Announcing Tournaments!
Monday, 02 November 2009 20:20

We have yet another exciting announcement here at SOCOMFireteamBravo3.com. In anticipation of SOCOM FTB3's release, we will be hosting our inaugural FTB3 tournament Friday, January 15th, 2010!

Currently you can sign up months in advance, so secure your spot while there is still room! To sign up, CLICK HERE. (Note a site account is required: click HERE to register a site account.)

The tournament will be a 1v1 single elimination tourney.

If all 32 spots fill BEFORE December 12th, we will expand the size to 64 players. We want to have the biggest tournament possible, so if we can get double the players that we initially anticipated, that's even better.

Rules are currently being crafted, and most likely won't be completed until a few days before the tournament, so please keep up with our news if you sign up. We will message all tournament participants once the rules have been finalized.

Lastly, we are currently looking into some cool prizes for the first place winner. Nothing has been finalized, but we are throwing ideas around so stay tuned.

Introducing VIP Membership!
Sunday, 01 November 2009 15:04

We are happy to announce the launch of the long awaited VIP membership! If you are interested, please read the quick FAQ below to see what added features you can get and how much it costs.

Q:
What is the price of a VIP membership?
A: $5 until November 15th, and after that it will cost $10.

Q: What do I get for buying a VIP membership?
A: See below:

  • Fully customizable username styles
    • Font Styling: Italics, Bold, SmallCaps
    • Text Decoration: Underline, Overline
    • Font: Arial, Comic Sans, Times New Roman, Georgia, Courier New + Many More!
    • Coloring: Any color you want (as long as it's not the color of the staff)
  • Custom rank titles
    • Regular members have a rank title that's something like "Petty Officer Third Class", but if you are a VIP member you can choose ANYTHING that you want- assuming it doesn't get bleeped by the word filter.
  • Larger avatars
    • Regular users are restricted to an avatar that is 80 pixels by 80 pixels, and under 20 kilobytes. With a VIP membership, that is bumped up to 120 pixels by 120 pixels, and a file size of 300 kilobytes.
  • No ads!
    • Unfortunately, we recently added advertisements. This was done because the cost of running the website was exceeding what we were earning, and we needed funds to keep the site running. A big perk of being a VIP member is that you will NEVER see ads on the forums for the length of your VIP membership.

Q: How long does it last?
A: It will last for 12 months (1 year).

Q: How do I go about buying a membership?
A: Private Message ME (click here) and tell me that you want to purchase one. You MUST have a PayPal account! Eventually we hope to have a subscription system that will let you purchase it through the forums, but for now this will be how we are doing it.

If you don't care about the above features, and still want to help the site out, think of it as a donation and the VIP status is our thank you.

It's Official: FTB3 Has Been Delayed
Wednesday, 28 October 2009 14:03

"Hi Everyone,

We want to give you an update on SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3’s release date. It will now be available on January 12, 2010. The PSP title’s development is on schedule and we are extremely pleased with all aspects of the title. It’s looking and playing great…some high value visual assets (screens and video) have only recently been made available to global marketing and we have decided to move the release and allow time to get the word out to everyone.

In case you haven’t yet seen it, you can check out the latest Fireteam Bravo 3 hit over at GameSpot.

I understand that this move is disappointing to some in the community, however as a result, you will be seeing a lot more of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 in the following weeks! – stay tuned.
